The porn industry is often glamourised to seem as though stars will be gifted fame and fortune for taking part in adult scenes, but that’s far from the truth.

Speaking out about the dark side of the industry is Lana Rhoades, a 27-year-old former porn star who is attempting to shine a light on the realities of working in the industry, with her even saying she wants all of her videos permanently deleted from the internet.

Appearing on the Curious Mike YouTube talk show recently, she explained further the highs and lows of her porn career.

Lana first began experimenting with positioning herself in a sexual way when she was 17, and worked at the risqué

restaurant chain Hooters for a year.

She explained host Mike Porter Jr in their chat: “That was my first job where men sexualize you.”

After deciding to leave her job, Lana then began working as a dancer in a club, but found that it didn’t bring in the income that she needed to live. So when the porn industry came knocking, she eagerly answered.

Detailing how she looked like ‘a little kid’ when she was 19 and first joining the world of adult filmmaking, she said that her childish looks was ‘what sells’ and what producers wanted in a female star.

But even though she quickly bumped up to fame, her bank account didn’t reflect her popularity.

You may think that Lana had been filming for years, but you’ll be shocked that it was only 8 months in total.

She recalled that it was ‘two four-month stints’ in the porn industry. That’s not a lot of work.

To make things worse, she went on to reveal how each of her sex scenes paid her only $1,200 (£972.66).

However, the Chicago native decided that even though she was the most searched actress on Pornhub in 2019, she had to leave it behind due to some of the awful things she was asked to do for filming, which she didn’t know how to reject.

She previously opened up about one the worst things she ever had to do during a conversation on the Three Girls One Kitchen podcast.

She said: “One of the worst… honestly, I feel like I’m in denial sometimes and I can’t accept some of the things that I’ve done.

“There was one thing that, ya know, I tried talking to a therapist about before something that I had to do for a scene that was really rough for me.

“Basically, this guy had a bowl and he, like, gagged me until I threw up into it and he, like, p***ed in the bowl, and during the scene he asked me to drink it, and I didn’t know how to say no.

“It was one of the most disgusting, foul scenes.”

This was just one of a whole host of horrifying reasons and experiences that led Lana to decide to quit.

But now, she’s so much better off doing OnlyFans.

Speaking to BFFs with Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards, she revealed that she’s now a multi-millionaire.

Lana said: “The industry I did not get paid s***. I probably had $100,000 (£71,000) in my bank account when I quit shooting porn and now I’m a multi-millionaire.”

Revealing to Mike about how the porn industry made her want to commit suicide, she shared how she worked every single day to change her reality and leave the industry and to make something of herself.

Now she works in fashion and is enjoying her life outside of her porn star identity.

For the future, Lana hopes to be a good mum, write a book and to continue with her passions.

Currently, she is reinventing herself and trying to shed her Lana Rhoades alter ego and go by her real name, Amara Maple.

A former actress has told how she is making a fortune on OnlyFans thanks to the raunchy content she shares with her husband – who also happens to be her stepbrother.

You may recognise Scarlet Vas from her time on Ramsay Street when she starred in Neighbours as no-nonsense policewoman Mishti Sharma, but those days are now long behind her.

In fact, 2021 was quite the whirlwind for her, in terms of both her love and work life.

In June of that year, the ex-TV star announced she had ‘fallen in love’ with her boyfriend of seven year’s, Tayo Ricci, who she claims is also her step brother.

It’s all a bit bonkers, to put it bluntly.

By August 2021, Scarlet had then launched her OnlyFans platform where she flogs saucy content for subscribers who forked out $15 (£11.99) a month.

Tayo soon started getting in on the action too, and before you know it, they’ve become serious earners on the adult site.

The pair got hitched in Mykonos in March last year, so they are spouses as well as supposedly step siblings.

During an appearance on the Uncensored Podcast last year, Scarlet said she ‘wasn’t earning a lot’ from OnlyFans when she first started but business then started booming, leading her to set up her own OnlyFans agency.

The ex-Neighbours star explained: “I’m in the 0.01%, like the lowest you can go on OF.

“But every month’s been getting better. Like last month was my best month. I hit almost $200k and then this month I’m going to do well over $200k.”

Scarlet then revealed that bringing in her stepbrother slash husband proved a big hit with her subscribers, who love the ‘cheeky’ content they create together.

Discussing their relationship, she said: “I mean the fans love us as like a thing or not a thing. He’s my stepbrother and Australian and we’ve known each other for a very long time.”

The podcast hosts asked Tayo himself whether he lends his wife a hand with her saucy snaps, to which he replied: “I would say partially, yeah. Definitely on hers.”

Scarlet then added: “Yeah, he always makes appearances on mine!”

When pressed about their supposed familial relations and whether they have ever leaned into it for content, the couple said they make a point of not pushing the boundaries.

Tayo continued: “To be honest, to the standard that people expect, honestly no. Like close family friends would assume we’re doing porn because we’re making that much money but we’re not.”

Scarlet chimed in saying there is ‘some cheeky stuff though’.

Tayo then added: “I’m not gonna lie when I was young, I fantasised about it. It felt so wrong till it felt so right.”

No matter what you may think of them, it’s clear that these two are laughing all the way to the bank.

It’s true when they say ‘sex sells’, and Riley Reid is certainly living proof of that.

Reid, now 32, is one of the most well known pornstars on the internet, as well as now being one of the best paid creators on OnlyFans.

So it’s safe to say she’s earned some pretty decent dollar doing what she does.

The adult film star, whose real name is Ashley Mathews, first got into the porn industry when she was 19-years-old, and it didn’t take long for her to become a household name.

She’s won numerous awards for her performances in X-rated films, including Female Performer of the Year at the 2014 XBIZ Awards, as well as being inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2021.

Even though Reid’s career has taken a slightly different turn in recent years, with her revealing in 2021 that she no longer films content with male co-stars, it’s believed she’s bringing in a six-figure monthly salary through her OnlyFans content.

And even back in her porn days, she wasn’t making too bad of a living.

Appearing on Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive back in 2018, Reid revealed just how much she got paid for one single shoot.

Paul and co-hosts, Mike Majlak and George Janko, asked her whether there’s good money in the adult industry, to which she replied: “The most I’ve gotten from one day… I think $12,000 (£9,445) for one day on a shoot.”

While she clarified that the majority of her earnings don’t come from shoots alone, and instead come from multiple sources of income, she said: “Like, that’s just from one shoot but I monetise myself in a lot of different ways.”

She also revealed how she gets paid for Pornhub views, which are now in the hundreds of millions.

Despite Reid speaking very highly of the adult industry at the time, back in 2020 in a now-deleted YouTube video, she urged people to not get into the industry in an emotional speech.

“A lot of times when people ask me if they should do porn, I tell them no,” Reid said in the clip.

She then became emotional about the cost to her personal life, be it with family or relationships.

“I tell them that it makes life really hard, it makes dating really hard, it makes your family life really hard, it makes intimacy hard.

“If you’re putting yourself out there and the world is now judging you, you have to be OK with being shamed every day of your life.”

Reid welcomed her first child with her husband, Pasha Petkuns, back in 2022.
