Millions of people use the platform on a daily basis, so a lot of subscribers have now learned all of the tips and tricks which can make your viewing experience a lot more pleasurable.
However, it turns out that tons of film lovers were completely unaware that there is a secret shortcut to finding the perfect thing to watch.
You’ve probably wasted a big chunk of your life browsing the endless options before settling on something bingeworthy, but at least you can make the process a lot more efficient from here on out.
So, here’s to no longer squandering hours and hours sat sifting through Netflix’s endless catalogue of TV shows and movies before finally making your choice.
Cheers to that, lads.
YouTuber Matty McTech, better known online as SetupSpawn, previously put people out of their misery by sharing a video explaining it all.
Take a look at this:
The content creator kindly took one for the team and demonstrated what happened when he searched the code 10118 on Netflix.
After simply typing the five numbers into the search bar, all of the superhero movies that the streaming service has to offer suddenly appeared.
Easy, right?
Talking his subscribers through the tech trick, Matty said: “Did you know that if you go to this website, netflix-codes.com, you can find a list of Netflix secret categories?
“Just watch…search for the code on Netflix and it will display all the shows and movies related to that code.”
Deciding what to watch just got a whole lot easier (Nikos Pekiaridis/NurPhoto via Getty Images)
There’s a host of other codes too – such as 45028 for ‘Deep Sea Horror Movies’, or 1192582 for ‘Bingeworthy British Crime Dramas’ – so everyone can make use of it.
Explaining why knowing the numbers comes in handy for Netflix users, the website explained that they wanted to come up with the ‘solution’ for people who are sick of the ‘really strange system’ the streaming service uses to categorise its content.
We can’t list all of the codes, as we’d be here all day, however, we have got a list of popular ones that might come in handy for you.
Have a look here – and happy watching!

Netflix has added a new film to its already massive catalogue, and it’s a James Cameron thriller that has a huge cult following online.
The streamer has several films vying for the top spots in its charts at the moment, with Christmas fever hitting early with Meet Me Next Christmas in addition to well-received originals, such as Woman of the Hour and Don’t Move.
The difference this film has to several of the others on there though is that, five years on from its release, there are still fans calling for a sequel to it.
The film uses copious amounts of CGI (20th Century Studios)
Directed by Robert Rodriguez, it was written by James Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis.
The cyberpunk action-thriller focuses on a deactivated cyborg called Alita, played by Rose Salazar.
When she is brought back online, she is forced to try and rediscover her past as she has no memories.
Joining Salazar is an all-star cast, including Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Eiza González, and Watchmen’s Jackie Earle Haley.
The movie – called Alita: Battle Angel – was released in 2019 to mixed reviews, with a 7.3 on IMDb and 61 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Despite this, it quickly developed a huge cult following online, with calls coming for a sequel more or less from the moment it was released.
One 10/10 IMDb review called it an ‘underrated masterpiece’ before going on to say: “Seriously, this might be the best movie of 2019. Alita is one of the most likeable protagonists I’ve seen in a while.
“It is outright disappointing that as of right now a sequel has either been delayed or isn’t in the works.
“I guarantee if a sequel of this were to come out the box office this time would outpace the original just because of how well this release sets up the next one.”
While a recent tweet said: “I can’t recommend this movie enough Alita: Battle Angel.
Alita: Battle Angel developed a cult following online (20th Century Studios)
“James Cameron, please make the sequel already! Or the prequel, just bring back my babe Alita.”
And another added: “We still need the sequel to Alita: Battle Angel…”
Alita: Battle Angel was a passion project of Cameron’s, who produced the film but was unable to direct it due to commitments to the Avatar franchise.
Is there going to be a sequel to Alita: Battle Angel?
Fans were reassured by Cameron, Rodriguez, and producer Jon Landua as recently as July of 2023 that a sequel to Alita: Battle Angel was in the works.
When asked in an interview, Landau said: “I want to be able to definitely do more in that world.”
While Rodriguez said: “Yeah, we have been talking about it, so we would love to make one.
“We haven’t set it for sure yet… They’re slammed with all the Avatar stuff, but they’ve definitely been engaging in it.”
This was seemingly reaffirmed when Cameron, while discussing his upcoming work in July 2023, said that he was working on ‘the new Alita: Battle Angel films’.
If you want to know what all the fuss is about to get this much of a furore about a sequel, you need only go as far as Netflix, where Alita: Battle Angel is streaming now.

GK Barry’s girlfriend has spoken out in support of the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star amid rumours she’ll end up quitting the show early.
The TikTok sensation really drew the short straw at the end of the first episode when the public voted for her to take on the first Bushtucker Trial of the series.
That came after the 25-year-old struggled to get through the opening trial with some meme-worthy facial expressions and screams.
Real name Grace Keeling, she ended up doing pretty well in her trial, ‘Vile Volcano’ as she shouted out some comments at Ant and Dec that will likely become part of the I’m A Celeb joke book.
It’s fair to say she’s struggled with the unwelcome campmates. (ITV)
But as her list of fears seems to be pretty long, there have been some rumours the podcaster will end up quitting the ITV show.
“The idea of a trial, I don’t think I am going to be very good at it, I am going to be one of those people that screams and cries and mildly vomits,” she admitted in her pre-camp intro.
“I am not good with heights, I am not good with animals, I am not good with anything that this show entails so, really happy to be here.”
And some users have been writing on social media that she wouldn’t ‘last two days’ in the jungle as others bet on her walking out in the first week.
Others even predicted she might ‘leave Gemma Collins style’ as one simply put: GK Barry won’t survive 48 hours the rate she’s going.”
As some started making the claims before she even entered the jungle: “I genuinely never thought I’d see GK Barry on here, I know she said she would but this is mad she’s not gonna survive.”

But as many fans still have faith in the star, especially after she won nine out of a possible 10 stars in last night’s (18 November) trial, her girlfriend has been piling on the support.
Ipswich Town striker Ella Rutherford wrote on Instagram that GK Barry is ‘doing us so proud’ as she called watching the show the ‘best time of the day’.
Celebrating her trial, the footballer wrote: “You count them stars queen. 9/10 She’s fkn smashed that, never in doubt. So proud of my lil jungle babe.”
And while she admitted she ‘shouldn’t laugh’ as the TikTok star struggled through, she also said of her girlfriend: “The nation gonna fall in love, just like I did.”
How to watch I’m A Celebrity ad-free
I’m A Celeb fans can watch the show ad-free by signing up for a free trial of ITVX Premium here. It’s £5.99 a month or £59.99 a year thereafter.

As one of the most highly-rated and critically acclaimed shows of the 21st century, Breaking Bad has accrued a cult following online… but there could be some bad news on the horizon for fans.
That’s right, unfortunately the show may not be available on one of its main platforms for much longer.
The crime drama’s first season was released back in 2008 and follows Walter White, a chemistry teacher who finds out that he has stage three cancer and turns to crime to secure his family’s financial future before he dies.
The show is allegedly set to be pulled from Netflix following an investigation by The Wrap and What’s On Netflix, who claimed to have found the exact last date you can watch Breaking Bad on Netflix.
Breaking Bad will be one of the biggest losses seen on the platform, but if you are a fan of the AMC show and the rumours are true, there is just about enough time to watch it through (a few times).
AMC
According to The Wrap, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman will be kicked off Netflix on 10 February 2025, if nothing is agreed in the next year or so.
Some good news though, is that boss at AMC, Dan McDermott, is eager for another Breaking Bad spin-off following the success of Better Caul Saul.
So there could still be content coming from the Breaking Bad world, don’t worry folks.
In an interview with variety, McDermott stated that AMC’s door ‘is always open’, leaving it in the hands of creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould.
He said: “I can tell you that if I could do anything to encourage Vince and Peter to continue on in this universe, I would do it.
AMC
“I think you’d have to ask them, but the door is always open and I long for the day my phone rings and Vince, Peter or our friends at Sony call to say, ‘Hey, I think we have another show set in this universe’.”
If they do decide to go in on a third series, Vince and Peter have set themselves up nicely, with no shortage of characters from the worlds of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul who fans want to see more from.
Breaking Bad is still available to stream on Netflix.

‘Tis the season… For lounging on the sofa watching TV all day, that is.
Yep, it’s been a busy festive period for many people, meaning all we want to do is fire up Netflix and check out the latest trending series.
Of course, it’s often tricky to find the real gems amongst the sheer wealth of choice out there – which sometimes results in endless scrolling without much success.
Thankfully, there’s a list of secret codes that helps Netflix do at least some of the leg work, with the streamer’s official fan site Tudum claiming: “Your Netflix queue is always stacked with movies and shows to hit play on, but what you might not know is that there’s a hidden way to make that viewing experience even better.”
The site has rounded up some of the best codes out there – from shortcuts for the likes of ‘Short-A** Movies’ and ‘Highbrow Horror’.
Netflix
All you need to do is load up your web browser and type in ‘netflix.com/browse/genre’, before adding the ID code of choice at the end of the URL.
“So if you’re in the mood for something as specific as, say, Gentle British Reality TV (with the code 81240711) or Witchcraft & the Dark Arts (81552046), or think all movies should be short (90-Minute Movies, aka 81466194), there’s a code and corresponding collection waiting for you,” Tudum explained.
But there’s one we’re particularly excited for, given our obsession with gritty British crime dramas.
For ‘Binge-Worthy British Crime Dramas’, just whack in the code 1192582, and you’ll enter a whole world of gripping series including Bodyguard, Top Boy and Safe.
Netflix
According to Mary Bertone of Netflix’s Curation and Taxonomy team, these very nifty codes date back to the days when Netflix was still in its DVDs-only phase.
“At the time, Netflix.com had a public-facing genre tree that linked out to all the various types of films and TV series, each of which has its own specific ID code,” Tudum said.
“A fan scraped the genre tree for all the codes, shared the list online, and people have been using those codes (along with the thousands more that have been added since) to this day.”
The site added: “New codes are being added whenever inspiration strikes.
“As Michael Raphan, a curation strategist at Netflix, tells Tudum, a conversation with a colleague about the Noah Centineo-starring series The Recruit — a spy adventure with romantic subplots — prompted him to create a collection, fittingly, called Action with a Side of Romance (81647318).”
