Splice is a horror starring Adrien Brody (The Pianist) and Sarah Polley (Dawn of the Dead) as two scientists who begin experimenting with DNA to create a human-animal hybrid.
Despite being told by their employers that they need to shut down the project, the pair continue to work on it in secret.
Eventually, they develop a creepy living-and-breathing female creature named Dren, and the two scientists become ‘parents’ to it.

However, as with any scientific project in a horror film – Dren starts to go rogue and trouble starts to brew.
Splice has a respectable 75 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes and was received positively by audiences.
However, it only made $27.1 million at the box office on a budget of $30 million.
Despite the movie being 13 years old, it has recently found life on streaming services and viewers are taking to social media to react to it.
One person says: “Just watched Splice, I am disturbed for life.”
Another viewer adds: “I saw it when it first came out in 2010. It is the MOST disturbing movie I’ve ever seen.”
Someone else describes Splice as ‘the most f***ed up movie’ they have ever watched.
A fourth person asks: “I don’t know why they decided to let that traumatic movie available for all.”
While another viewer pens: “Scared me s***less.
“The ending left me traumatised. I love the Conjuring, Paranormal movies but this is the most upsetting by far!”
However, not everyone is sharing the same sentiment as other viewers.
Someone comments: “Wow, just read a little story about people who watched Splice on Netflix… a horror movie, they are complaining about a horror movie being traumatising… IT’S A HORROR MOVIE!!!”
“If you are that much of a wallflower just don’t watch horror movies.”

People Are Saying Underrated Movie From 2011 Perfectly Predicted The World Today
People are saying that an underrated film from 2011 has perfectly predicted the world today.
There have been countless movies over the years that viewers claim have predicted real-world events.
Fans believe that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s classic The Running Man correctly predicted people’s fascination with brutal competition shows.
While others reckon that The Truman Show, starring Jim Carrey, predicted that people love programs focused on people’s lives, similar to The Kardashians and Big Brother.
However, there is one film in particular that people are saying has perfectly predicted society today.
Upon its release, it was met with mixed reviews, with most critics praising the concept and story, but being unimpressed with the writing.
Despite it not receiving the ravest of reviews, fans are still commenting on the movie and insisting that it has predicted modern society.
Fans are also saying how the film correctly predicted the rise and importance of digital currency.
One person says: “Damn! This movie is a heavy message to society!!”
“This movie is criminally underrated, ” another adds, saying it “has a really deep message to society. From economics to inequality in society, this movie represents everything perfectly.”
“This movie is more relevant now than ever, seriously underrated,” comments a third.
Someone else says: “And here we are with digital currency just around the corner.”
A fifth fan adds: “But what caught me in is the realistic portrayal of society, where the rich keep getting rich and the poor die. Timely and relevant isn’t it?”
The 2011 movie has an all-star cast, including Justin Timberlake, Cillian Murphy, Olivia Wilde, and Amanda Seyfried.
The unique plot of the movie, which was written and directed by Andrew Niccol, revolves around time being a currency and people stopping aging after 25, meaning that the rich live for longer, while the poor die young.
Will Salas (Timberlake) is someone who doesn’t have a lot of time left and is on the brink of death.
However, after getting rewarded with over 100 years, he makes the most of his life and forms an alliance with a powerful man’s daughter (Seyfried) as they aim to bring down the rich and the corrupt.
The film was made on a budget of $40 million and ended up grossing a whopping $174 million.
Although it only garnered a 37% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 6.7 out of 10 on IMDb, it seems as though fans are still fond of this unlikely hit.
In Time has unexpectedly become popular online many years after its release.
Despite its initial poor reception In Time ranked third on Netflix’s Top 10 English-language movies for the week of September 18-24, 2023, with 5.7 million views and 10.4 million hours watched, per Screen Rant.
The renewed interest is likely due to the now more famous cast, including Timberlake, Seyfried, and Cillian Murphy, who have all achieved significant success since the film’s release.
In Time is available to stream right now on Netflix in the UK, and Disney+ in the US.
