Speaking to the Telegraph, Beckham explained that her feelings of self-consciousness ended up in her being careful about what she ate and what she looked like in pictures.

She said: “It was because of my skin that I became very careful about what I ate.

“And yeah, probably I did look stern in a lot of pictures, but I was so uncomfortable.

“Was there a time when I used to scroll through all the comments about me? Probably. But now I just don’t have the time.”

In fact, as far as food is concerned she apparently ‘only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables’ according to her husband, who claimed that ‘she will very rarely deviate from that’.

He said the only time he can remember Victoria picking something off his plate was when she was pregnant with their daughter Harper.

However, Victoria responded to David’s claims that were ‘making me sound boring’ and said she actually does eat a lot of other stuff that he didn’t mention including ‘lots of healthy fat: fish, avocado, nuts, that sort of thing’.

She also said she would have alcohol ‘unless I have a reason not to’, but added: “I’ll detox from anything for three to six months where I won’t drink. I’m quite extreme in anything I do, whether it’s eating or working out or drinking or not drinking.”

Perhaps it would be best if she held David to account on his claims over her eating habits by interrupting an interview he’s doing about it with the reminder to ‘be honest’, since it worked so well for them last time.

Elsewhere in the interview, she said that after the Netflix documentary was released, she’d been in a pub with her husband, and after they left, they found a note on the car saying: “Dear David, on behalf of the British public we’re really sorry. We loved the documentary.”

Victoria said that moment was ‘really, really sweet’ and she ‘got emotional’ when she watched the part where she and her husband were dancing together.

A new book about the Beckhams is being released, and it does cover the alleged affair

There’s a new book coming out about the Beckhams and their life together which promises to tell ‘the rest of the story’ for those who loved the Netflix documentary Beckham.

It’s titled The House of Beckham: Money, Sex and Power, and it contains certain claims about the alleged affair between Rebecca Loos and David Beckham.

The former Dutch glamour model made headlines about 20 years ago for claiming that she’d had an affair with the footballer following his move to Real Madrid.

Beckham denied the whole thing, and the Netflix documentary brought events back to the front of people’s minds.

According to the Mirror, House of Beckham contains claims from Loos that she decided to speak about the alleged affair after seeing Beckham refuse to give a waitress a tip in a Madrid restaurant.

When she was first catapulted into people’s consciousness with her claims, she made a number of comments about the Beckhams, including some words for Victoria.

In the end, the one demand she had for Victoria Beckham was that she didn’t ‘expect any sympathy from her whatsoever’.

She said: “I think it’s bad enough for me to do what I have done without me expecting any words of sympathy. I really hope that they get through it.

“I think the problems were in their marriage long before I came into the picture. I in no way intended to break up their marriage especially when there are young children involved.

“I hope they stay together.”

Stay together they have, as the Beckhams are still married now and don’t appear to be breaking up any time soon.

Instead, they’ve been prodding fun at each other in the Netflix documentary which featured David ribbing Victoria for her claims that she was ‘working class’.

You’ve probably seen it by now, the bit where he prods his nose into one of her interviews for the documentary and tells her to ‘be honest’, not leaving until she admitted that her dad had a Rolls Royce.

The couple ended up taking the mick out of that self same scene during the Super Bowl, with a recreation as part of an Uber Eats advert.

Meanwhile, David occasionally likes to talk about his wife eating the same meal every day for 25 years, and that’s grilled fish with steamed vegetables.

Victoria has insisted that she does eat other things like avocado and nuts, basically ‘lots of healthy fat’.

They say it’s best to not take yourself too seriously, and it seems like David and Victoria Beckham are more than comfortable poking fun at themselves in a new Super Bowl advert teaser.

You can see it here:

The Beckhams are still one of England’s most high profile celebrity couples, and the release of the Beckham documentary on Netflix last year only elevated them further.

Beckham is a four-part exclusive which covered the ins and outs of David Beckham’s life on and off the pitch during his playing career.

It includes some never-seen-before archive footage and sit down interviews with the ex-Manchester United player and Victoria, along with some notable cameos which included David’s ex-manager Sir Alex Ferguson, ex-teammate Ronaldo (the Brazilian one), ex-rival Diego Simeone and best friend Gary Neville to name a few.

Despite all this, ‘Posh Spice’ seemed to steal the show with her candidness and honesty.

Apart from one moment.

The Beckham documentary sparked an iconic moment.

Netflix

In a scene where Victoria was talking about her childhood, she talked about her ‘very working class’ upbringing, to which husband David asked, from around the corner, for her to ‘be honest’ repeatedly.

She promised that she was being honest before finally relenting and revealing that she was driven to school in her Dad’s Rolls-Royce.

Don’t think that’s quite working class.

In the spirit of the moment, the two have now released a teaser for a Super Bowl ad that they’ll be doing for Uber Eats recreating the iconic scene.

In the clip, Victoria claims that they will be in a ‘little commercial’ before David tells her, from around the corner again, to ‘be honest’.

She finally clarifies that it is a ‘big commercial’, before David says to ‘clarify what it’s during’.

“Okay it’s during the big baseball game,” she admits.

David then re-iterates: “Super big baseball game.”

The former Spice Girl then asked to a person off-camera if it was ‘the hockey bowl’, to which David sarcastically asks his wife to mention ‘Jessica Aniston’.

David Beckham recreated the documentary scene with the same shot of him peaking around the corner.

Victoria continues to say: “Jessica Aniston is going to be in it too”, in a similar manner to her forgetfulness about her dad’s car.

David then finishes by thanking his wife before shouting ‘we love Jessica!’ while walking away.

Victoria also shared the teaser clip to her Instagram – which received glowing testimonials from fans.

One person wrote: “Whoever came up with this deserves a raise.”

Another called them ‘national treasures’, adding: “Oh, and Jessica Aniston, too.”

Someone else wrote: “I need a shirt that says “Victoria’s Dad Had a Rolls Royce.”

David Beckham has roasted his wife Victoria over claims she made about growing up ‘working class’ in their Beckham documentary which first dropped on Netflix earlier this year.

Now, unless you’ve not managed to watch the doc yet, one scene sees Victoria and David bantering about their respective childhoods with the Spice Girls star telling the interviewer: “Both of our parents worked really hard,” before making an assertion that the football icon clearly found side-splitting.

“We’re very, very working class,” she added.

Have a look at the clip here:

Netflix viewers all over particularly enjoyed David’s reaction to the claims after he poked his head round the corner while the interview was still taking place, telling his wife: “Be honest.

“What car did your dad drive you to school in?”

Victoria responded: “It’s not a simple answer it depends,” but David clearly wasn’t satisfied with her reply as he kept repeating the question until she finally confessed: “OK, in the Eighties, my dad had a Rolls-Royce.”

Immediately after she had answered the question, David said ‘thank you’ and shut the door on her to let her resume and carry on with the interview.

Needless to say, the internet had a right field trip over the hilarious exchange.

David wasn't letting it go.

Netflix

Now fast-forward a few months and it seems the pair still haven’t forgotten about the exchange, with David taking to Instagram yesterday (31 December) to share with his 86 million followers a family snap of their New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Making a reference to Victoria’s claims about her upbringing, he playfully captioned the family photo which featured him, Victoria and her parents: “Just a nice casual New Year’s Eve lunch at The Ritz @victoriabeckham. Very working class. My mother and father in law left in there Roll’s [Royce].”

People clearly couldn’t wait to share their reactions to the post, with one Instagram user writing: “Best caption we needed to end this year.”

“Love this it’s so good,” praised a second.

A third chimed in: “Love your sense of humour, both of you!”

“Gee he’s funny!” quipped a fourth. “Love them so much!!”

“Funniest bit of the documentary,” added another, while someone else echoed: “Elite sense of humour!”

And, last but not least, it’s clear Posh Spice also saw the comedic side to the caption, commenting: “Special NY Eve I love you xxxxxxx.”

David Beckham lifted the lid on his wife’s eating habits

David Beckham has been brutally honest about his wife’s eating habits, claiming that Victoria has eaten the same meal for the past 25 years.

Before we get into it though, isn’t it weird how it’s considered normal to have the same exact breakfast everyday but if you do it with lunch or dinner everyone loses their minds?

Ok. rant over.

Now, it seems that the Inter Miami co-founder, 49, has candidly lifted the lid on what Posh Spice, 50, likes to eat on the regular.

In an interview on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast in 2022, the football legend opened up about his love of food and wine, while explaining why his wife of nearly 25 years tends to stick to the same meal.

“I get quite emotional about food and wine, when I’m eating something great I want everyone to try it,” David explained.

“Unfortunately I’m married to someone that has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years.

“Since I met her she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables, she will very rarely deviate from that.”

He continued: “The only time she’s probably ever shared something that’s been on my plate was actually when she was pregnant with Harper and it was the most amazing thing.

“It was one of my favourite evenings. I can’t remember what it was but I know she’s not eaten it since.”

Amid the pairs eating differences, they are still happily married with four children: Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 13 – yet things could have been so different.

Back in 1994, just after Victoria auditioned for the Spice Girls, her then-boyfriend Mark Wood popped the question.

They both met when she was a 14-year-old schoolgirl at St Mary’s High in Cheshunt, while he was working for her parents’ electrical company.

Victoria was even living with Mark at his parents home in Hertfordshire at the time.

But Posh decided to end their six-year relationship just as the Spice Girls were starting to get big.

“It wasn’t the right person for me, I wasn’t enjoying myself, so that had to end,” she once told Big Breakfast host Denise Van Outen.

If you’re invested in their love life, four-part docu-series Beckham on Netflix covers all basis, from David’s famous falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson to his alleged affair years ago.
