Footage of the incident, which occurred at around midnight on 15 June, made national news as it showed a 10-month-old calf being rammed by a police car after it was wandering around Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey.

The cow, named Beau Lucy, had been filmed walking around on the roads at night by local residents when a police car hit her and knocked her down the street, the same car then drove into the cow again and kept her on the ground.
There were some protests from onlookers and Surrey Police later said that the officer driving the car had been removed from frontline duties pending an investigation, while Beau Lucy had sustained cuts and grazes and was later returned to her farm to recover.
The investigation has since reviewed over 250 pieces of footage and taken 75 witness statements to determine whether the officer caused unnecessary suffering to an animal.

The footage from earlier this year caused quite a response and the police officer behind the wheel had been removed from frontline duties (SWNS)
Beau Lucy’s owner, a farmer named Rob, had described the cow being rammed into by a car as ‘quite horrific’ and ‘wrong’, saying he didn’t understand why officers didn’t use ‘a tranquilising dart’ to pacify the cow and wondered why a vet wasn’t present.
At the time of the incident, police said they had attempted to contact local vets ‘without success’.
With the investigation now over, the cop who was behind the wheel is going to return to frontline duties after the review found their actions to be ‘lawful and necessary’.
As per The Independent, Surrey Police said: “The SIO (senior investigating officer) has now completed their investigation and determined that while footage of the incident was distressing in nature, those involved in the incident acted within their duties, and the tactics adopted were both lawful and necessary to prevent harm to the public and property.
“As such, no further action will be taken in either the criminal investigation, or the internal misconduct matter.”

An investigation has determined that what the police officer did was ‘lawful and necessary’, and they will return to frontline duties (SWNS)
Nev Kemp, deputy chief constable for Surrey Police, added that the police understood how strong people’s feelings would be about the incident and the investigation did say there was ‘a need for individual learning’.
He said: “After investigating for five months, the SIO found that while there is necessary organisational learning in relation to how we handle loose livestock, no criminal offences were made out and therefore no further action should be taken against those who were involved.
“This determination was supported by the head of professional standards for Surrey Police who subsequently reviewed whether there was any potential misconduct.
“They determined a need for individual learning, but that no further action is taken in relation to misconduct. The driver of the vehicle will return to frontline duties in due course.”
DCC Kemp added: “We have reviewed the recommendations made by the SIO and experts in this area, and will be working to address these promptly, sharing any best practice with forces across the UK.”

The ending to season two of Clarkson’s Farm was full of good vibes as Jeremy launched his new Diddly Squat restaurant.
But the start to the brand new third outing of the show on Amazon Prime Video has been anything but positivity, with one segment about Pepper’s fate leaving fans all asking similar questions.
Season three starts where the second season ended, with the farm restaurant the focus for Jeremy Clarkson and his team. Sadly for him, the restaurant shutters were slammed shut by West Oxfordshire District Council in-between filming for the two seasons.
The council issued six demands when ordering Jezza to shut down the eatery; some of which left him completely baffled.
Outrage on social media has been that vehement that the council has been forced to issue a new statement as Clarkson focuses on ways to diversify the farm’s income.
After launching the third season with the closure of the restaurant, viewers were left sucker-punched after finding out about the fate of the most-loved ‘cast members’.
We’re talking about poor old Pepper, who was sent to the abattoir alongside 12 other cows.
With the restaurant now closed and beef only needed for the on-site burger van, Clarkson made the decision to reduce his herd of cattle from 25 to 12.
Clarkson said: “I’m finding today really quite sad because for the last year I’ve been opening the windows, open the curtains in the morning, and there are the cows. I love that. It just cheers my heart every morning to see them.”

See you around, Pepper (Prime Video)
On Pepper’s fate, Jeremy asks farm agronomist Charlie Ireland: “Can I just ask, Pepper is going obviously. What do you think will become of her?”
Responding, Charlie said: “I wouldn’t ask too many questions about Pepper. Don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answer to.”
“Oh, Christ,” Jeremy says.
But it’s a moment in the show that has left viewers conflicted given how season two ended.
The finale to the second outing showed Jeremy tell his partner, Lisa Hogan, Pepper was being kept as a ‘pet cow’.
Earlier in the second season, Jeremy was asked to take care of Pepper by the five-year-old daughter of the cattle breeder he bought the cow from.

Clarkson in the second episode of the third season (Prime Video)
With her struggling to get pregnant in the second season, her fate looked consigned to the abattoir only for Clarkson to go against farming common sense.
It’s this situation that has left people scratching their head over why she was sent away to be turned into food at this stage, given he’d gone against logic when it came to this decision – and the fact she was now an actual pet.
On Reddit, one person said: “So let me get this straight. Clarkson was keeping Pepper not to eat or breed or milk but as a pet. Clarkson got rid of Pepper because the council wouldn’t let him have a restaurant to sell meat but would allow him a shop to sell meat.
“Something doesn’t add up. The restaurant being approved or not would have no bearing on their ability to keep Pepper.
“Rather she had served her usefulness as a form of entertainment for season two.”

Pepper being sent to the abattoir (Prime Video)
Responding, another Reddit user tried to apply logic saying: “He got rid of the breeding cows, who would’ve been consistent companions for her.
“The ones he’s kept I believe are meat cows and once they’re gone, he’s done with cows.”
But another contradicted that logic, saying: ‘I just binge watched season three. He kept the babies to ‘fatten up’; he is still running meat through the food truck and said he would be ‘royally screwed’ if they didn’t allow the food truck to proceed so I would suspect he isn’t planning on getting rid of the cows in perpetuity with the current plan.
“Season two finale he said he would keep pepper as a pet. Im saddened he got rid of Pepper.”
A fourth was more hopeful, saying: “The people who picked up the cows were the ones who originally sold them. Way back when he bought them their daughter asked him to look after Pepper so I imagine in my idealistic little mind they’re going to end up keeping her.”

Gregg Wallace has released a video statement after it was announced he was stepping away from MasterChef after 19 years due to an investigation into allegations of misconduct.
Earlier today (28 November) it was announced that Wallace, 60, would be stepping away from the BBC cooking programme.
Take a look at the video here:
MasterChef’s producer Banijay released the following statement: “This week the BBC received complaints from individuals in relation to historical allegations of misconduct while working with presenter Gregg Wallace on one of our shows.
“Whilst these complainants have not raised the allegations directly with our show producers or parent company Banijay UK, we feel that it is appropriate to conduct an immediate, external review to fully and impartially investigate.
“While this review is underway, Gregg Wallace will be stepping away from his role on MasterChef and is committed to fully cooperating throughout the process.

“Banijay UK’s duty of care to staff is always a priority and our expectations regarding behaviour are made clear to both cast and crew on all productions, with multiple ways of raising concerns, including anonymously, clearly promoted on set.
“Whilst these are historical allegations, incidences brought to our attention where these expectations are not met, are thoroughly investigated and addressed appropriately.”
The statement added: “If anyone would like to talk to us or raise any issues or concerns, then they can contact speakup@banijayuk.com in confidence.”
Now, Wallace his broken his silence on the matter. Speaking in an Instagram video tonight, he said: “I would like to thank all the people getting in touch, reaching out and showing their support.

He has since spoken out in an Instagram video (greggawallace/Instagram)
“That’s good of you. Thank you very much.”
The BBC has since confirmed that 13 individuals, including broadcaster Kirsty Wark, have made allegations against Wallace.
Following the news, singer Rod Stewart laid into Wallace on Instagram in a brutal statement in which he accused the presenter of being a bully.
Sharing his statement via a black-and-white text post, he wrote: “So Greg [sic] Wallace gets fired from Master Chef.
“Good riddance Wallace… You humiliated my wife when she was on the show, but you had that bit cut out didn’t you?
“You’re a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully. Karma got ya. Sir Rod Stewart.”
Lancaster had participated on season 16 of Celebrity MasterChef in 2021 and made it to the quarter final of the show before being knocked out of the comp.
LADbible has reached out to Greg Wallace, Banjay UK and the BBC for comment.

The family of a missing woman who vanished en route to a ‘bucket list’ trip said they are ‘extremely’ concerned for her welfare after new footage of her final known movements emerged.
Hannah Kobayashi, 31, disappeared in the middle of her journey to New York from her home on the Hawaiian island of Maui, and has not been heard from since 10 November.
She first flew to Los Angeles on November 8, where she was supposed to pick up a connecting flight to the Big Apple the following day – however, she never boarded the plane.
Hannah’s frantic mother, Brandi Yee, explained that her daughter had planned to meet up with her aunt in the US city while ticking off one of her ‘bucket list’ destinations, but she didn’t turn up.
Her relatives reported her missing on 10 November and have not heard from her since then.
More than a week on, her family said they are becoming increasingly worried about Hannah’s whereabouts, especially now new CCTV footage of her has emerged.
According to Hannah’s aunt, Larie Pidgeon, the 31-year-old was picked up on surveillance cameras in downtown LA near a Metro station on 11 November with an unidentified person.
Larie says she was accompanied by an unknown individual and did ‘not appear to be in good condition’.

Speaking to the New York Post, the aunt explained that the footage had caused ‘major alarm’ for Hannah’s loved ones and also ‘kind of solidified the family’s suspicion that something has been awry’.
“It has made us extremely worried,” Larie said.
The relative also told KTLA 5: “She is not safe, and she is not alone.”
The development has only exacerbated the fears of Hannah’s family, as she had also sent a series of concerning texts to people before vanishing.
In one message to a friend, the missing Maui woman said she had ‘got tricked into pretty much giving away all my funds’.
Another saw Hannah explain she had been fooled by ‘someone she thought she loved’, while a third read: “Deep Hackers wiped my identity, stole all of my funds, & have had me on a mind f**k since Friday.”
Her sister, Sydni Kobayashi, claims that the texts are ‘really weird’ and unlike Hannah.
She told HawaiiNewsNow: “I personally don’t think that was my sister. It’s weird to me because it doesn’t sound like her, like there’s just something off about it…I don’t know if it’s her or if someone else was texting.”

Her family are desperately trying to track her down (ABC7)
Larie also explained that the family do not have any connections in LA, adding: “She knows no one in LA. Our entire family knows no one in LA.
“We try not to think the worst. We’re trying to keep hope alive…but our mind is now going to abduction and, I hate to say the word but, trafficked.
“We’re doing the best that we can, but the family at this point is now, we’re having to come to the reality that those things could be a possibility.”
Hannah’s phone has been switched off since 11 November, her family claim.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that an investigation into her disappearance has been launched and that the FBI are assisting with the probe.
But Syndi says authorities have ‘not been much help’ so far, while Larie said that Hannah’s relatives are ‘doing their own investigation on the ground’.
They hope that this might ‘put a little bit more pressure on [the police] to do as much as the family’s doing’, especially in the wake of the emergence of the new CCTV footage.
Hannah is described as being 5ft 10ins and around 140lbs, with brown hair, brown eyes, fair skin and freckles.

A former British investigator has landed in Tenerife to help with the search for missing teenager Jay Slater.
Mark Williams-Thomas – who has claimed he can get Jay‘s family answers in as little as three days – has worked on several high profile cases, including the disappearance of Nicola Bulley in January 2023.
Jay, 19, from Lancashire, went missing on 17 June in Tenerife after attending the New Rave Generation festival.
The last person to hear from Jay was his friend Lucy, who said that he had phoned her at around 8.50am on the Monday morning, saying he was lost in a mountainous area of the island, he needed a drink and his phone was only on one percent.

It is believed that Jay left the festival in the early hours of Monday morning with two men, before travelling to an Airbnb in the Masca region of Tenerife.
His family have been frantic in their efforts to find him, telling news outlets that they believe he could have been ‘taken against his will’.
With the search now entering its second week, Mark has offered his help to the family.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Mark explained that he would be able to get to the bottom of the case in as little as 72 hours.
“I would quickly be able to establish whether or not there are suspicious circumstances – but I’d need total access to everything and to speak to all the witnesses involved,” he said.

Jay’s last known location was in the National Park of Teno area. (Family Handout)
“Having feet on the ground and looking at the scenario and circumstances, I know I will get to the bottom of this in three days.
“If the family work with me, I will get the answers. It is crucial for the family. It is difficult for them, to deal with foreign police who handle it differently.
“But I’d need their full cooperation, I’d need to speak to every witness involved; those that he’s been with since he’s been on the island. Some people will be more persons of interest than others.
“It’s a week on now – I need to get on the ground and get the answers. It’s about finding Jay.
“I come with credibility, will work with them and the Spanish police, and get them the answers they need. We need to establish what the involvement is with these two guys [he stayed with], why he went back to the Airbnb and then why just left?
“The chances of him wandering off are possible, but is there more to this?”
On Monday (24 June) morning, Mark confirmed that the family were keen to accept his help. He has since been spotted on the island.
He posted on X: “Jay Slater’s family clearly struggling with all the media interest and attention, have switched off all phones and cut contact.
“I am awaiting to speak to mum later today, but have had a response from close relative that mum is keen to accept my team’s help.
“Having worked with many families at crisis point when a loved one goes missing the family become the eye of the storm and it’s very very tough for them to manage all the enquiries on top of there own stress & worry.”

The news comes after Jay’s mum released a statement after the GoFundMe set up for her son reached its £30,000 target.
As the search continues, some people online have raised questions over the fund and how the money will be used.
Writing on the page, she said: “I wanted to confirm that this is the only GoFundMe fundraiser approved by our family. “We have not yet withdrawn any funds and are currently covering the expenses, such as the trip to Tenerife and accommodation, ourselves.
“The funds will remain on hold with GoFundMe until we post a further update on this page.
“We are extremely worried and are doing everything we can to find Jay. Please continue to share our fundraiser far and wide. Your support means the world to us, and we are grateful for any help you can provide. Thank you again.”
